Elizabeth Russell

My art evolved from a life filled with colors; aromas; textures, like those found in the wheat fields and cherry blossoms on our Michigan family’s farm; and boundless freedoms.  I explored numerous avenues of expression before settling into painting with glass.  A fused glass painting has multi-dimensional layers of color and depth, which allows viewers to discover something new every time they look at it.  Fascinated with hand-blown works of art and churches filled with rays of sun lighting up stained glass since childhood, painting with glass has become my ultimate challenge for expressing the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach, as well as incorporating my number one goal in life: inner peace and happiness.
